Formed in 2016, Los Angeles-based alternative rock quartet Half the Animal produces an infectious sound, which blends catchy, hook-laden rock attitude and pop-driven styles. Originally founded by vocalist Chase Johnson and drummer Nick Gross—who were featured cast members in the hit MTV reality TV series ‘Laguna Beach’ during their formative days as the band Open Air Stereo—Half the Animal also includes bassist Evan Smith (Silversun Pickups/Chromeo/Big Data) and classically trained guitarist Dan Graham.
Half the Animal made an impact with their memorable debut single “Babylon,” a grandiose, stadium-sized rock anthem that became the band’s first-ever viral hit, garnering over 1 million streams online, collectively, since its release in July 2016. The song quickly earned the band nationwide industry attention and strong radio support on multiple SiriusXM channels, including Top 40 radio station Hits 1 and The Pulse, as well as regular airplay on tastemaker Los Angeles stations ALT 98.7 and KROQ, which featured Half the Animal on their celebrated Locals Only program. Collectively, Half the Animal also count over 1 million YouTube views to date and have been featured on ‘Billboard’ and Ones to Watch (Live Nation).
In fall 2017, Half the Animal released the successful follow-up single “Bad Bad Love” via the group’s independent imprint Noise Nest Records. Featuring a lush soundscape built atop hypnotic vocal melodies, piercing piano chords and dreamy synths, the track was highlighted on Spotify’s influential New Music Friday playlist. The band also launched a 33-date US Fall tour in September 2017 alongside Atlas Genius in support of the track.

New video footage obtained through secured, Australian sources have revealed a potential meeting between the US and North Korean governments, proving that the on-again, off-again negotiations for a peace summit between President Donald Trump and Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un are more ongoing than previously acknowledged. The video shot at an undisclosed location appears to document the two leaders meeting in a typically judicious fashion to determine the future relationship of the mutually antagonistic powers.
The encounter, clearly witnessed by an international audience of diplomatic and political power players that seemed to include, Russian President Vladimir Putin, former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, My Secret Circus, and what looks to be a hookah smoking Zombie Bin Laden, reveals the previously underestimated negotiation skills of the oppositional leaders. Throughout the meeting, witnesses are confirmed to be appropriately contributing to the globally critical arbitration between the staid and decorous commanders, and the audience ultimately supports the appeasement goals achieved in the secret summit meeting.

ABOUT ‘SOMEDAY’
Tragedy can be a tough mountain to climb over. Some are left hopelessly wishing the door to pain will close and never reopen.
Others, like Celso, use the pain caused by a passing loved one to fuel their creative outlet. How many of us wished we could remember our last conversation with someone we cared about? or be able to listen to it on repeat just to get back the essence of the person’s existence?
Celso was able to do this for himself on this Mydus produced melodic journey called ‘Someday’, also featuring the dulcet tones of singer Jessica Totaro.
After the passing of his friend/little brother due to a drug overdose, Someday recalls the worries that plagued Celso’s fallen comrade and his attempt to seek advice to improve himself and his circumstances.
With lines like “Remember what you’re doing and the dreams you are pursuing, remember that the sun is always up for your viewing” it’s clear that while dark times may hover over us if you look out into the distance, a better day will undoubtedly come…Someday!

Secret Colours – Dream Dream
If you didn’t know these guys were from Chicago, you’d assume they’re a bunch of Brits, with their insanely Britpop-influenced sound and their unusual spelling of Colours, but the Windy City exports manage to capture the soul of the UK in the late ’90s/early ’00s and mix in a good amount of 70’s Psychedelia for a sound all their own. Ample amounts of fuzz and pop combine to sound something like if The Stone Roses and The Black Angels decided to mate, and their offspring is something to be cherished.
