Exploring themes of self-worth, perfectionism, and fear, Rendell has fused her soulful roots with electronic soundscapes, hints of funk and pop hooks. Filmed by Gareth Kay and directed by Ricardo Castro, Jules Rendell is excited to unveil the visuals for ‘The Return’, the third single off her debut album ‘IMAGINE’.
Speaking of her new song, she adds: ‘We spend our lives worrying about things that don’t really matter. We chase after success, value achievement, and stature, but it’s a trap that can tie us up. I think love is what can free us from all of that stuff – I long for that resting place of acceptance.’

The Body Politic – Parasoul
Canadian progressive metal outfit The Body Politic has premiered a new music video for the single, “Parasoul”. The song comes from their 2017 contr:addiction EP, which broke the progressive metal mold and revealed the most sophisticated songwriting the band has accomplished to date.
“’Parasoul’ is a song about pain. Our director Mike perfectly captured the bitterness, sadness, and anger in the song with his treatment of the video. Our latest album explores the world of addiction, and how substance abuse only temporarily masks pain,” commented drummer, Spencer Bowman. “A parallel can be drawn to the video for ‘Parasoul’ as it illustrates how vengeance is unsatisfying, and only masks the damage that motivates it. If revenge is used as the antidote, the pain remains.”
Twisting energetic chaos with melodic soulful solos, the band aims to bring something new to the metal world.
About The Body Politic:
Originating on Vancouver Island, The Body Politic is a six-piece powerhouse of poly-metric grooves, aggressive screams, and soaring vocal melodies, pushing the boundaries of modern metal music. The members honed their craft in post-secondary music programs while recording their first full-length release All Too Human (2011). The album and the subsequent touring put them on the map in Canadian progressive metal and led them to open spots for bands like Tesseract, Protest The Hero, and Scale The Summit. The Body Politic solidified their position as one of Canada’s most vibrant independent metal acts with their second release Egressor (2014). This album was a leap forward in both technical musicianship and raw, honest emotion. The video for the lead single titled ‘All Hands’ was supported by Much Music and premiered on Much.ca. The extensive tour cycle that followed this release propelled the band to new heights in the Canadian music scene, and due to the press that this album generated, the band gained dedicated fans in Europe and the United States.
In 2017, The Body Politic released their most anticipated album thus far. contr:addiction (2017) deals with the most personal and emotional subject matter to date. With this album, The Body Politic breaks the progressive metal mold. Mixed by Adam “Nolly” Getgood – a process completely funded by fans via an IndieGoGo campaign – these songs reconceive what progressive metal can be, and reveal the most sophisticated songwriting the band has ever accomplished.
On stage and in the studio, The Body Politic brings a new kind of energy to progressive metal. They challenge the status quo. They innovate. They redefine.

Phil Rudd – Head Job
Phil Rudd solidifies his rock roots and firmly asserts his reason in rock history with his new video for the title track off of his album “Head Job”. The album has recently been re-released as to get all of the legal BS that can sometimes happen out of the way and now it is time to get down to business. And this song, along with the album “Head Job” is all about getting busy with it’s classic yet timeless sound that Phil helped to create.
About Phil Rudd
Described by Malcolm Young, co-founder of AC/DC, as “the real deal”, Phil Rudd, the band’s long-term drummer, played in several Melbourne bands such as Buster Brown and The Coloured Balls before joining up with the rock giants in 1975.Rudd powered the band to super-stardom with his dogged consistency and unshakable back-beat on classics like ‘It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Want To Rock ’N’ Roll)’ ‘TNT” and ‘Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap’, becoming an indelible part of AC/DC history.
To the untrained ear, Phil Rudd’s drumming may seem rudimentary, but his style and groove have earned him the adoration of generations of his peers. Rammstein’s Christoph Schneider said in the October 2010’s Modern Drummer, “AC/DC were my absolute heroes because they are simple and easy to copy, though soon you find they are not so easy to copy.” The magazine’s May 2010 issue also honored the rocker with the feature ’50 Reasons To Love Phil Rudd’.
Rudd has appeared on all but three of AC/DC’s 18 studio albums, which have sold more than 200 million copies worldwide. When the blockbusting album ‘Highway to Hell’ went multi-platinum worldwide, Rudd said he ‘‘went straight down the road to buy my first Ferrari’’ sparking a lifelong love of luxury cars. Rudd showcased eleven of his luxury cars in Christchurch, New Zealand as part of an earthquake appeal fundraiser, his current collection includes a rare 1991 Ferrari F40, a brand new Ferrari 599, two Lamborghinis, a 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost, 2011 Bentley Mulsanne, and Bentley super sport, Audi R8 V10, a 2011 Aston Martin DBS, and 2010 Mercedes SLS AMG. The cars have a combined worth of approximately $3m. Rudd’s airport hangar is also home to his MD 520N helicopter.
With the lavish rock star lifestyle firmly in place, Phil Rudd recorded and released his first debut album ‘Head Job’ with Kiwi musicians Allan Badger and Geoffrey Martin in 2014. The album was released via Universal Music Group in Australia & New Zealand but further promotional plans were scuppered by well-publicized legal problems in New Zealand.

Minx – Female Dirtbag
This was something that needed to happen. There simply had to be a vision for the voice. And now that vision is here in the form of Minx’ new video for her stellar track titled ‘Female Dirtbag’. This premiere is simply an honor. After listening to the track last month (review HERE), and talking with here HERE, I realized that some artists were simply meant to be.
‘Female Dirtbag’ is not what you may think by reading just the title. You have to read between the lines. And those lines are clearly drawn with the track by Minx, who draws it with a big stick and keeps it with an even bigger mic. Empowerment can mean many things, but in Minx’ case that definition is written in stone with the simple fact that gender is not a roadblock, but the road itself. You can use that empowerment to define your character and, in turn, let that character define you to others. Beautiful in many ways.
About Minx
Minx’s brand of ‘inclusive feminism’ shines through in her stunning new track ‘Female Dirtbag’, an ode to a powerful breed of women who know what they want and how to get it, as you can see from her Dave Chappelle inspired cover for the single.Sexy, funny lyrics delivered with smooth and sultry aplomb are fast what is giving Minx her name. Produced by Cooler Ruler Divine (Onyx, The Lost Boyz, Sean Price) it’s a perfect pairing as Minx’s love for classic Hip Hop from the ‘Golden Age’ is strong and this is undoubtedly a smooth Boombap banger.
