After the atrocities at the Manchester Arena last month, the people of the city did what they do best, pulled together and showed the world their amazing spirit.
Nothing can change what happened on that horrific night but the musicians of Manchester decided to create ‘Manchester With Love’, a huge compilation of stunning tracks.
So here you have it, an outpouring of love from the Manchester music community to the people of the city, celebrating our diversity and unity. The collection will raise funds for those affected by the devastating events on the 22nd May 2017, over 200 Mancunian artists have donated their music for free and all monies raised will go directly to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.

To be able to make it in the music industry is a tough gamble. Real tough. The exact same thing can be said about becoming an author, or more importantly, a mother. Our person of interest for today has been able to do all three. Brilliantly, I might add. That person is Kristin Hersh. Having already made a name for herself with the legendary Throwing Muses, she then expanded her career to include new musical endeavours such as her solo career and 50FootWave.
But wait, there’s more. And this is the part where I really hope that she appreciates my writing skills because she is also an established author. With books such as “Don’t Suck, Don’t Die“, “Rat Girl“, “Toby Snax“, and her new book “Wyatt At The Coyote Palace” (with a massively good soundtrack), Kristin has proven to the world that her skills are aplenty. But what most impressed me in the interview above, and I think it shows, is that she has been able to raise a family amid all the chaos that is musical entertainment. To me, that is the mark of a true talent.

Musical duos come in all shapes and genres. Some work. Some don’t. Musically. We talk to a musical duo that not only works; it thrives. The music coming from this duo is simply exciting. In every sense of the word. That duo is LUCKYandLOVE. And to hear their story will give meaning to the music.
In the interview, I speak with April Love, one half of LUCKYandLOVE. Her sensual voice and atmospheric guitar work are a part of what makes this band work. But there is so much more. Check out the interview and previews to hear for yourself.

Being known for being part of a famous band or group is the hopeful end result of many musicians, but to be able to top that with a stellar career in the studio as one of the premiere music producers in the industry is something that rarely happens with equal success. But we talked to one of those people who has actually accomplished both in the form of John Ashton.
John began his career as a guitarist with the Psychedelic Furs, touring stadiums and becoming a part of one of the most successful underground bands of the 1980s and continues that ride with his current band, Satellite Paridso. Then he made the switch to music producer, working with such acts as Marianne Faithfull, The Sisters of Mercy, Red Betty, and Seven Color Sky, just to name a few.
We now talk to John about his rise to creative prominence, his current projects as well as the past, present, and future.
About John Ashton
Ashton came to prominence in the early 1980s as the guitarist of the Psychedelic Furs. The band is an English group formed in 1977 by Richard and Tim Butler, Duncan Kilburn and Roger Morris, with Ashton joining in 1978. Their first album release was a hit in the UK and Europe. Their second release Talk Talk Talk placed them on the US charts. After the release of Forever Now in late 1982, Morris and Kilburn left the band, and Ashton and the Butler brothers went on to release Mirror Moves and other albums. The Psychedelic Furs went on hiatus after their 1992 tour but reformed in 2001. Since then, Ashton has joined the band on occasion for tours.
After the Psychedelic Furs went on hiatus, Ashton became a record producer and worked on a number of projects including Marianne Faithfull, The Sisters of Mercy, Red Betty, and Seven Color Sky. Ashton mixed and co-produced The Secret Post’s album From Train to Station, released in 2015, and oversaw recordings with Los Angeles’ Silence.
Ashton has also pursued a solo career and released his debut album, Satellite Paradiso, in 2014.
