ShapeShiftingAliens is a Swedish duo, consisting of Niklas Rundquist and J.P Cleve on vocals. Together they create music and unusual and eccentric videos. Their inventive approach appealed to Nolan Cook of The Residents, leading them to collaborate with one another on ‘Shadows’, the final track from their 2017 eponymous album.
Rundquist and Cleve met when they were both working with Iodine Jupiter. Cleve is a producer and composer, live musician and studio musician (guitar) for artists and film, as well as touring and performing. Inspired by various film music composers and especially horror films, their music has also been influenced by the likes of David Bowie, Lou Reed, Goldfrapp, Air, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, and Massive Attack.
In the early 80s, Rundquist participated on Lustans Lakejer‘s first record and performed with The Leather Nun. Since then he has been composing music for films, documentaries and commercials (i.e. the vignette for Sandrew Metronome) and has created music for Cirkus Cirkör, Iodine Jupiter, and various artists on the London scene. Today, Rundquist is once again part of The Leather Nun (on violin) and stands behind Brainshadow.
ShapeShiftingAliens signed to Swedish indie label The Sublunar Society in 2016. Since that time, they have released three singles – ‘Just a Boy’, ‘Stay’ and ‘Cut To The Bone’ – followed by their full-length ‘ShapeShiftingAliens’ LP.
The Sublunar Society is a record label and publishing company, founded by Marie Lundvall and Peder Bjoerk in 2013. Sublunar releases music and publishes literature for the international and national markets. The company also produces exclusive limited edition art products for collectors. The guiding spirit behind The Sublunar Society is one of artistic freedom and creative exploration beyond the conventional.
The ‘Showing My Face’ single is now available across online stores and streaming platforms, as well as through The Sublunar Society’s own Bandcamp.

Rest, Repose – Hanging By A Thread
Rest, Repose is an Alternative Rock band from Seattle, WA. Combining de-tuned, heavy guitar riffs with soaring, melodic vocals, the band’s message is one of positivity and unity. Featuring YouTubers Jared Dines (drums) and Fluff (guitar) the band put out their debut Sleep City EP in December 2015. Dar.Ra – Phenomenal
Born in Dublin, Ireland, Darragh J Brady – AKA Dar.Ra has been in the music industry for a while with hits in the UK and Australia, signed to EMI, Festival and various dance labels over the years, remixing Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Tears 4 Fears, Savage Garden, and writing for Rachel Brown (Faithless, Groove Armada) plus having music on various Hollywood films like ‘Snakes on Planes’ films starring Hilary Duff on ABC TV, Match Of Day (BBC TV) and US Documentary City Of Hope.
He grew up in Brighton and London and his first solo album Soul Hours was released in 2010 made album of the week of Spain’s Heart FM, as well as receiving support from BBC Radio, playing to over 1 million people on air within one live show.
Also an author, Dar.Ra has a book available called ‘Road Tales’ which has been getting brilliant reviews and is based on people Dar.Ra met while being the road from the late 1990’s to 2008.
On Phenomenal, Dar.Ra says –
“The track is about single mothers and the sacrifice they make to keep everything going, a roof over their heads and food on the table. It’s a tribute to them and my own Mum who brought me and my brother up on her own and worked herself to the point of exhaustion to do it. God bless them all”.
The forthcoming album (2019) titled ‘Planet X’ is a unique blend of rock energy and soulful melodies crossing boundaries from those genres plus visiting the world of reggae and country and world music soundscapes. The sound is heavyweight, tight and never lets you down for a second.
Themes on the album include; strong single mothers on the lead single track ‘Phenomenal’, losing people you love way too soon on a track called ‘Rewind’, world insecurities on ‘Heavier Than Rock n Roll’, and love being your drug of choice on ‘Heart Shaped Pill’.
