Micky Diana – No Bells This Christmas
Micky is a singer-songwriter from London, who’s performed professionally as an actor since he was in small trousers and plimsoll shoes.
His acting pursuits have taken him around the globe in various productions and some closer to home in London’s west-end.
Songwriting and performing his own material has always been his first love and he is now taking the plunge and intends to make his mark in today’s music industry.
Micky’s brass clad, style of indie pop has a well-balanced mix of intoxicating vocal melodies, fast-paced and quick-witted lyrics which are a must hear for music lovers of any genre, with an almost urban element to his vocals, think Jamie T mixed with Maverick Sabre, with a hint of Ray Davis and a pinch of Damon Albarn’s observant wit and you’re not far off.

Counterfeit Culture – Apothecary (ft. Ricky Armellino)
In this day and age, we’re constantly bombarded by an onslaught of overwhelming influences from the entertainment industry and the media. It’s inescapable. Standing out from the pack becomes a bold proposition and an even bolder move. That’s where Counterfeit Culture comes in. Not only do the New Jersey quartet—Nick Broglio [vocals], Patrick Robertson [guitar], Elijah Pagan [bass], and Chris Smith [drums]—shake up heavy music, but they also shake up pop culture at large, ripping conventions to shreds with an artful amalgam of intricate metallic musicianship and alternative-inspired melodies. Their 2017 Deathwish EP introduces an infectious ideology.
“The name Counterfeit Culture basically says that we live in a society where TV shows, movies, magazines, and web sites tell us how to dress, how to act, and how to live our lives,” says Patrick. “Society tries to force you to be a certain way. We’re saying that’s wrong, and you can be whoever you want to be and live life however you want.”
The members initially met in 2015 while still in high school. They quickly built a local buzz, performing with top-notch acts such as Suicide Silence, Whitechapel, Like Moth To Flames, The Plot In You, Erra, Thy Art Is Murder, Invent, Animate, and much more. In 2017, they worked with producer Ricky Armellino [Currents, This Or The Apocalypse] and mixer Taylor Larson [Periphery, Darkest Hour] on what would become Deathwish.
“We take inspiration from multiple genres,” the guitarist goes on. “Of course, we’re a heavy band, and we’ve got those down-tuned breakdowns. At the same time, there are melodic riffs and singing with layers of vocal harmonies. It’s this mix between alternative and metal.”
The single “Apothecary” illuminates the nuances of that style. Snapping from precise polyrhythmic pummeling into hypnotic harmonies, it consciously speaks up against domestic violence lyrically and in its cinematic music video.
“The lyrics are about pretending to be someone you’re not and trying to sell yourself as someone you’re not,” explains Nick. “The music video tells that story of domestic abuse. We gave it a visual representation. It’s a girl in this abusive relationship, making it seem normal. Obviously, she’s in pain, but she doesn’t show it.”
Elsewhere, “X” tackles the horrors of drug addiction through a tightly woven sonic assault, “Second Soul” examines “the self-destructive death of one’s former self.” The band separates itself from their contemporaries through both the integration of melody and a fashion-conscious image, eschewing the typical “black t-shirt and jeans,” as Patrick puts it.
Drawing inspiration from remaining outsiders since growing up through and through, Deathwish is as real as heavy music gets. “When people hear this EP, I hope they think about how they’re living their lives and open their eyes,” Patrick concludes. “You don’t have to just do things the way your favorite actor does. Take our songs as inspiration to live your life how you want to live.”
“The songs come from an honest place,” Nick leaves off. “They talk about my past. I felt myself change as a person. I want other people to know that change is possible.”

The Digital Masquerade – Straight Jacket
Covina, CA based metal band The Digital Masquerade has released the Official Music Video for their single, “Straight Jacket,” off of their full-length LP, Digital Train Time Machine. “Straight Jacket” was directed and edited by renown Society 1 front-man and artist Matt Zane of Lord Zane Productions.
“Straight Jacket,” Digital Masquerade’s first music video, was filmed in Glendale, CA at the old abandoned police facility. The song is a story about getting institutionalize in a criminally insane asylum and tortured. Then the inmates overtake the asylum and escape, which story is visually captured by director Matt Zane.
The Digital Masquerade started back 2013 in the city of Azusa, California. It all started when Kurt and Trevor met each other at a party through Kurt’s old guitarist from his previous band, Sixteen Till. Immediately, they clicked and started jamming. They wrote a couple songs and knew that they had something going, so naturally, they picked up a bassist and drummer and formed ‘The Digital Masquerade’. Before acquiring a bassist and drummer, Trevor and Kurt pretty much wrote the entire first album.
A little while later, they recorded the first album, “Welcome to the Masquerade”. However, before recording had begun, the former bassist had left to join the Air Force. This left Trevor to record all the bass parts. The former drummer had moved to Tennessee after recording and before the album was ever released. With only a singer and a guitarist, the band was going through a bit of a hiatus. Even though all of this had happened, Kurt and Trevor decided to keep the band alive and start jamming again.
They wrote a few more songs before finding a bassist. Trevor had known of a guy that played bass and guitar by the name of Collin. Collin filled in on bass before finding now bassist, Jim. Jim had been in a band Mind-vent on the east coast and moved to California. After being recruited to play bass, Collin then moved to rhythm guitar.
Now with Kurt on lead vocals, Trevor on lead guitar, Collin on rhythm guitar and Jim on bass, all the band needed was a drummer. This brings us to Red. Red had found an ad on craigslist for a band seeking a drummer and immediately contacted them. The band asked if he could try out and he did. They immediately connected and thus completing The Digital Masquerade. With a complete band, they recorded their first album together, Digital Train Time Machine. They played a few local shows, promoting their album. Then set out for more rewarding shows. They received their first show in the “light” at The Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, Ca.
They opened up for Circus of Power and got great reviews. Since then they have opened for other national acts such as Stephen Pearcy from Ratt, LA Guns, Dizzy Reed from Guns N’ Roses, Motograter etc.. They since have been playing and continuing to write music. They recently made a music video for their single, “Straight Jacket” in which they are touring to promote it along with writing new material to be recorded in the fall of 2017.
