Comprised of two members from Sweden and two from England, The Franklys have created something unique, commonly described themselves as “frenetic garage rock with heavy and psychedelic overtones”. But don’t fool yourself by assuming this is just another band on the London rock scene.
The Franklys have built a reputation for themselves as one of the most exciting live bands on the London circuit and beyond with relentless touring across the UK, Europe, and America the past couple of years. They are best known for being a band that can’t be pigeonholed and have proved that by making festival appearances at both Isle of Wight 2015, Download Festival 2016 and Rebellion Festival 2017.
May 2017 saw the release of their debut album ‘Are You Listening?’, which received praise from publications such as ‘Louder Than War’ and ‘Vive Le Rock’ as well as radio stations such as BBC 6 Music where Steve Lamacq described the first single as ‘The best thing they’ve done to date’.
The latest single to be released from the album is the fourth track ‘Keeper’, a dark number with a haunting bass and drum intro executed by bassist Biggs and drummer Clark. The song slowly builds into an upbeat indie-style chorus and brings out some heavy guitar-riffing from Broberg along with some serious cymbal bashing. The vocals, which start off merely as a whisper, soon transforms into howls where Ahlkvist declares she will keep him, her, or even it, for herself.

Postcards from the Moon – Wish You The Best
Fresh off the release of their violin-driven pop punk single “Just Make Sure You’re Happy,” Texas-based quintet Postcards From The Moon are back with a new music video and single called “Wish You The Best.” Violinist Rolando Valentin Ramon sets down the high-pitched instrument and picks up a guitar for the finely tuned ballad.
“Wish You The Best” comes from the band’s new EP, Me Without You, out now on all online platforms. The song begins with quick and sweet piano riff before launching into a swaying groove and lyrics that could be the millennial anthem for a failed friendship.
“I wrote this song about an ex-friend of mine,” says vocalist Caleb Rangel. “It’s about me not holding grudges for the way things ended and simply wishing her the best. I only want her to be happy. The lyrics were influenced by a Snapchat story. Another friend of mine was going through something similar and was posting photos with captions that really got to me. I used a lot of her original words as lyrics in this song, after getting the ‘okay’ from her of course.”
Me Without You is the sophomore EP from the self-proclaimed “Sad Boys of San Antonio” and is mostly a reflection and acceptance of things we cannot change. It was produced by Kevin W. Gates (Never Shout Never, Stephen Jerzak, The Ready Set).

Parabola West – Calling Your Name
Parabola West is releasing her new single ‘Calling Your Name’ and, along with that, a new video inspired by the deep woods of New Zealand, which this American singer-songwriter now calls home. Directed by Chris Lane for Bigkid Productions, Felicity Cawood’s art direction for the new video brings this sonic lushness into a forested landscape fit for the Hobbit or Lord of the Rings.
Parabola West is the artist persona of Amy Tucker West. Drawing inspiration from Celtic and Nordic folk roots, electronica, and organic sounds, her music is a lush soundscape of layered melodies.
“Calling Your Name’ expresses the torment of loving someone who has become emotionally numb. Ask anyone on a significant dose of anti-depressants and they’ll tell you about the numbing – that slow, subtle nothingness that keeps life ticking over without incident but turns down all the color,” says Parabola West.
“The lyrics “you are a wilderness frozen from me” kind of sum up the bad times when you just can’t reach the heart until the ice melts. We wanted to create a curious, beautiful, and dark fairytale feeling with the video. The goal was to make it feel both otherworldly and relatable – to express the isolation, hope, and madness of holding an unreachable heart.”
This new release follows up Parabola West’s 2017 EP ‘Purity of Weakness’ and lead single ‘Fire’, which was released both digitally and on CD. Her debut EP ‘Did You Hear?’ was released in 2014. Often piano-driven, her music is laced with hints of Celtic and Scandinavian influences and a dash of fantasy.
Originally from Springfield, MA (near Boston) on the U.S. east coast and currently based in Raglan, New Zealand, Amy began songwriting on the piano as a teenager and, at age 21, she was recruited into the London-based trip-hop band Dreamfield during their recording sessions in Boston. With two critically acclaimed releases to their credit, the band split in 2003 and West relocated to New Zealand.
The self-confessed ‘math & science nerd’ then took a 10-year break from the music industry to work in IT and engineering recruitment, returning to her musical roots in 2013 as solo artist Parabola West.
“I came to a point where I needed to fully immerse myself again in the creative,” says Amy Tucker West. To achieve that she took the extreme step of moving completely off-the-grid to a rural spot on New Zealand’s rugged West Coast. West has since released two successful EPs and continues to call Raglan home.
This song was recorded at 432Hz instead of the standard 440Hz due to Parabola West’s experimentation with healing frequencies in her music.

Romancer – Nausicaa
Romancer is a four-piece Ambient Punk-Rock band that comes from Kitchener Ontario, Canada. Combined with members with incredible musical talents, Romancer has one goal; to bring the fans a sound that toes the line between soft intimacy and explosive aggressiveness.
Currently, this bunch of humble guys is ramping up to the release of their new project “honeybee” – their second and latest release as Romancer. “Honeybee is our most lyrically honest, and experimental release to date. I am so proud of us this time around, and I can say with confidence that we’ve all reached into the depths of our musicality and creativity to bring out the best in each other and this record” says Romancer lead vocalist/guitarist Adam Horrocks. The band released their debut EP “As We Both Close in on the Water” last year on June 10, 2016.
Shortly after the band released the record, it quickly gained the likes of fans in numerous markets across Canada, USA, Europe, Mexico, and Japan. Their track “Fireworks” had been featured on a compilation CD that was released via LA punk label Wiretap Records shortly after the release of their debut LP. FFO: Jimmy Eat World, Alexisonfire, Brand New & Moneen, this is surely one well-written and engaging record, and will stimulate from beginning to end.
Frequently touring, the band’s fanbase keeps growing in current and new markets. 2017 is set for the release of “honeybee,” a new music video and two tours, one being through eastern Canada.
