Scotland’s The Jasmine Minks have announced their new 7” single, to be released via A Turntable Friend Records, both digitally and on blue vinyl in a cardboard sleeve.
With almost the same line-up as on the very first recordings, Jim Shepherd, Martin Keena, Dave Musker, and Tom Reid recorded this new material together with producer legend Pat Collier at his Perry Vale Studios in London.
Presented as a double A-side 7“ single, ‘Step by Step’ and ‘Gravity’ shine as if the band had recorded it some 30 years ago. The first track is an upbeat and uptempo jingle-jangle harmony with a 60s chorus (written by Tom Reid) while ‘Gravity’ comes as a more fuzzy anthem reminiscent of ‘Cut Me Deep’. The Jasmine Minks have been strongholds in the British music scene since 1983, originating from Aberdeen. In fact, they were the first band to be signed to Alan McGee’s fledgling Creation Records label back in 1984. Many classic songs, singles, and albums followed. ‘Think!’ or ‘Cold Heart’ are among the best songs released during Creation’s early phase.
“It was a moment of utter bliss when singer-guitarist Jim Shepherd confirmed that the single would be happening,” says Ulrich Hoffman, owner of A Turntable Friend Records.
As of March 22, this two-track single will be available everywhere digitally via A Turntable Friend Records with distribution worldwide by SRD (London, UK). The limited edition 7” can now be ordered on blue vinyl in a cardboard sleeve (with download code) via Bandcamp and Limited Run.

The Gracious Losers – Loath To Leave
The Gracious Losers have premiered their new video for the track titled ‘Loath to leave’. Graciously gritty and beautifully subdued, ‘Loath to Leave’ is a musically melancholy track devoid of boredom and filled with introvertedness. The music reacts to the lyrics in a subtle fashion, almost highlighting the meaning with little influence. This is masterful songwriting. Almost like a noir-style film with almost hidden plot points, the video artistically emphasizes the musical crescendo, an almost anti-crescendo actually, with the skills found on a cinematic level.

ABOUT THE GRACIOUS LOSERS
Known as a 9-piece supergroup, featuring members of Sister John, Thrum, God Help the Girl, The Parsonage, Sporting Hero, and the Berie Big Band, The Gracious Losers draw on their shared and disparate musical influences including Celtic folk, 70s psychedelia, and outlaw country. The album title, ‘Six Road Ends’ refers to an arcane place in Northern Ireland, where six rural roads haphazardly converged at one perilous junction. The crossing no longer exists, and so has taken on a mythical quality despite once being very real – a place of stuckness, hesitation, and risk. Lilley’s intricate songwriting reflects these themes, feeling at times planted in an intersection and at others moving lightspeed toward uncertainty.
The lead single “Loath to Leave,” out on February 18th, follows the throughline of impermanence with a lightly plodding funk groove, unexpectedly melancholy lyrics, and decaying organ frills that alluding to a peaceful fade away. A wailing slide guitar propels listeners along as the track evolves through what feels like time and space. The track’s video underscores the detachment from spacetime, as Lilley and vocalist Amanda McKeown fluctuate freely between chairs in a “perpetual state of magic” before disappearing altogether. The duo can be seen in a state of waiting in a liminal living-room, passing the time by checking watches or kicking the ground, before resolving the tension created by transitional moments with a sense of relief.

The Gloomies – Nightlight
Belying the grim name, Andy Craig formed The Gloomies in a sun-bleached surf town in Southern California. Taking cues from Southern California’s surf scene, The Gloomies are influenced by the sounds of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Ariel Pink, and Lana Del Rey.
The Gloomies broke onto the music scene in 2015 with their single “LSD”. This strange paradox, mixing gritty realism and yearning optimism, is what caught listeners’ ears with the single “LSD”. The surfy track was only posted on Soundcloud for friends to hear, but ended up on countless music blogs and eventually landed them “Buzz Band of the Week” in NME.
After receiving praise from Noisey, DIY, KCRW, and many others over the last few years, combined with months of touring, The Gloomies released their “Blackout” EP in 2016. This was followed by the 2017 single “Space” in collaboration with Cults singer Madeline Follin. In 2018, they returned to New York to complete work on the debut LP “Romance”. They have spent the last year in New York recording new music, creating a hypnotic collection of songs that showcase their original vision.

Lethal Injektion – Believer
Tucson, AZ based, West Coast Metal band Lethal Injektion has followed up on their highly praised sophomore LP, Judgment Night, with a stunning reinterpretation and music video of the Imagine Dragons hit single, “Believer.”
Lethal Injektion is the newest Rap/Metal sensation, based out of Tucson Arizona. The band was put together with Tucson’s hottest top-tier artists to make an undeniable sound & movement.
Jacob Ryan, is a successful independent rap artist under the rap name The Raskal, who most recently won West Coast Artist Of The Year @ The Under Ground Music Awards in New York in December 2015. The Raskal has also had major write-ups in The Source, allhiphop.com, World Star Hip Hop, along with other big features.
Jonathan Russell is most known for his amazing talents as the vocalist in his own band, Stands With Fists. Stands With Fists has had a lot of independent success as well doing several huge events such as Knot Fest & KFMA’s Fall Ball just to name a few. Jacob reached out to Jonathan back in July, with an idea and concept never before seen or done in Tucson. A fusion of hardcore passionate hip-hop lyrics, blended with high energy, aggressive metal tones, and rhythms. The one thing missing was a band to make it all come together.
Using his deep connections in the Tucson metal scene, Jonathan reached out to a young talented group of musicians to finalize this new super group. Guitarists Lawrence McIntyre & Jesse Espich team up with drummer James Ringstrom, and bassist Luis Rodriguez to provide a unique, yet marketable sound to accompany Jonathan’s wide vocal range and dynamic melodies, as well as Jacob’s gritty yet clever rhymes and distinct voice. Their debut single “Strength Through Struggle” has done amazing numbers, and is available on all major digital music outlets.
The band released their follow up single and very first music video “Voices” on their YouTube channel Friday January 15, 2016. The band then followed up with their first studio recorded EP “Sex Is Power”, which made an immediate impact charting as high as #8 on Itunes for new releases for the Rock Genre, and stayed at #1 on Amazon for new alternative metal release for the first 2 weeks.
