Sløtface has officially dropped their lyric video for the track titled ‘Sink or Swim’. Addressing the very real issue of climate change in such a way puts a face on the issue that needs to be recognized. Music is the perfect way to do that because it puts the issue in the subconscious in a way that only music can do. Sløtface does this in a way that is filled with class and lacking in self-promotion with a lush song filling out the meaningful lyrics amid disturbing visuals of the toll we’ve given our home planet and have yet to pay ourselves, making this video a wake-up call.

The Magic E’s Release ‘Into The Fading Light’ (The Week in #Indie Segment)
The Magic E’s play melodic Rock ‘n’ Roll that delivers “Sounds of early Brit-Pop and Mod-Rock through building melodies and wonderfully textured sounds.” (Anthem Review).
Their influences range from bands such as The Who, The Clash and The Small Faces and 90’s Indie including The Stone Roses, Ride and The Charlatans whilst comparisons have often been made to Bruce Springsteen, Teenage Fanclub, The Gaslight Anthem and The Jam.
Since forming in 2014 Pete Thompson (vocals/guitar), Jasper Stainthorpe (Bass) and Stuart Catchpole (drums) have released a string of singles and gained worldwide radio play and critical acclaim for their debut album, ‘It Goes On’.
New Jersey-based Henry Lipput, music blogger and reviewer for numerous publications, made it his favorite album of 2017 and went as far as to say that the band was “The best British Rock ‘n’ Roll band since the heyday of the Gallagher brothers”.
The band completed their first UK tour in 2018 and won over an army of new fans as a result. 2019 sees the band release their second album alongside a number of live shows across the country in support of their new music.
‘Into The Fading Light’ is the first single to be taken from the new album and it’s definitely a nod to all of the above, a real feel good, balls out, Rock ‘n’ Roll, tune.

Jammerzine’s The Week in #Indie for 5/10/2021
In this episode of Jammerzine’s The Week in #Indie we feature exclusive interviews with Johnny Indovina and Mark Balderas from rock legends Human Drama, #indie upstart Jonny Kosmo, and the original sounding Proper Nouns. Also new original music and videos from Aleks Grey, Electrobuddha, Max Embers, Royals, Yelpy, and Razorbats.
About Human Drama
In this Jammerzine Exclusive, we talk to literal legends of music in the form of Johnny Indovina and Mark Balderas from Human Drama. And by legends, I mean immensely talented musicians and true human beings. Human Drama is one of those sacred icons of music having evolved musically for almost five decades and showing no signs of slowing down while doing everything on their own terms. This, to me, is that unspoken achievement rarely achieved and almost never accomplished.
Their latest album, titled ‘Blurred Images‘, is a continuance of their evolution of revolution that began with ‘Hopes Prayers Dreams Heart Soul Mind Love Life Death’ and refined and remolded through ‘Broken Songs for Broken People‘. Retaining that core sound while evolving into new forms of music is the sign of true musicians and artisans.
On ‘Blurred Images’ throughout, you get a set of personal takes on the snapshots of life. You will hear about this in detail in the interview. Musically, the album is blurred in genres at times yet comes together succinctly as a concept. Some will say that this fits a metaphor of a scrapbook filled with images, but personally, I feel that it is a single canvas of paintings molding into one another. Not knowing where one begins and another ends, but, collectively, make something whole.

http://sevendaysinmexico.com/About Jonny Kosmo
Jonny Kosmo has given an exclusive interview to Jammerzine. I announce that because, when you hear his music, you will see. This artist is a true original. From his music to his life and everywhere in between.
And, in this interview, we talk about his new album titled ‘Pastry’, to be released June 4th on Feeding Tube Records and Dinosaur City Records (AUS). We also talk about his innovative video from ‘Pastry’, for the song ‘Fool’ (video below), featuring animation with personality by Peter Nichols (his YouTube link below).
Whatever your musical tastes are, I think it is safe to say that you will find space on your plate for Jonny Kosmo. His music comes from that part in all of us that wants to know our individuality and inner child. Jonny has found both and made them partners.
“There are two sides to every coin. “Fool” is about how our character struggles can also be our greatest assets. In this case, it is love and connection with another that allows the defensiveness and protection of the fool archetype to shift to that of a fool for life. I aimed to capture the movement from the rigidity of taking ourselves too seriously to the humor of being human. This song is accompanied by a video made by Kevin Kearney, Peter Nichols (animation), and myself.”

https://soundcloud.com/user-626752313About Proper Nouns
Spencer Compton from Proper Nouns is our special guest in today’s Jammerzine Exclusive interview. Having just released their new album titled ‘Feel Free’, Proper Nouns are at that magic moment where they get a wider audience and those original fans can start saying ‘I remember when they started’.
In today’s interview, we get a personal glimpse at the man behind the music as well as the beginnings of Proper Nouns and how to overcome the trials life throws at you, both internally and externally, and convey them in the music. This can be inspirational.

https://propernouns.bandcamp.comAbout Aleks Grey
Aleks Grey has released his new single titled ‘B.A.B.Y.’. Standing for ‘Being Alone the Breaks You’, tells the story of not taking that chance in life. Finding that special someone. I’ve been there myself and thank God my fiancé is braver than I am.
Having said all of that, the song starts off with that Aleks Grey that has evolved into a more complex and thoughtful songwriter and such a different and diverse artist with a stellar track that is as pertinent as it is polished. This song sounds like a million dollars. And that, folks, is the secret to getting your name out. Listen. Learn. Love, baby!

Electrobuddha is set to drop the new single titled ‘Biba Love’ on June 4th. An almost retro-anthem with psyche-rock roots, ‘Biba Love’ sonically marches forth with the musical history of the past few decades and brings a dirty hook and raucous beat you won’t soon forget.
LINK:
https://linktr.ee/markhamiltonmccafferAbout Max Embers
Max Embers is set to drop his new single titled ‘Wildest Dreams’ on Friday. Before then, however, we get that exclusive first listen, and, this one is a privilege. It is a privilege because not only does ‘Wildest Dreams’ fit the sign of the times, it does it with such an earnest and honest way about it and a clear and vivid musical side that you will not only relate but rely on.
‘Wildest Dreams’ has a subtle orchestral vibe with Max’s weathered angelic vocals guiding and gliding throughout. Some songs need not shout the message in your face. Some just need to give you their heart. This is the latter. Beautiful. And over too soon.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC36Mpr76HE8JuljZY7iOOigAbout Royals
Royals have released their new single and video titled ‘Jaded’. Those first few notes make it obvious that Royals are master songwriters. The hook is strong and the song is solid. But there’s a message behind the music, and it is solid. The song is a lesson and a guide in this trying time of isolation and COVID. We are all there, whether we are still trying to figure out our new lives or we are resigned. ‘Jaded’ sings that we are not alone, and that change is here. We can all make our strength that strength of adapting, and learn that we are not alone, even if we are jaded.

Yelpy has released his new video for the track titled ‘Heartbeats’. Written masterfully and capturing that moment and emotion within the moment, ‘Heartbeats’ accompanying video is a visual aid to that future memory and style that is always copied but almost never improved on, except here. Simplistic video captures soar with the consistent hook that is the style of Yelpy. This is magic.

Razorbats have officially today released their new album titled ‘Mainline Rock ‘N’ Roll’. Multiple eras clash in multiple ways and collide with originality in this new album that showcases Razorbats’ songwriting and musicianship. There isn’t a single song that doesn’t deserve a foot stomp or a headbang in a solid rock album with signature riffs and distinct hooks. This is an anthem as much as it is an album.

Jammerzine’s The Week in #Indie for 9/9/2019
Jammerzine’s The Week in #Indie for the week of September 9th, 2019 includes exclusive interviews with TC&I and former XTC bassist/singer Colin Moulding, Moon Palace, Night Tongue, and Palm Haze plus premieres from Dar.Ra, Desensitised, Otis McDonald, Peter Saputo, and Resurrection Fern.
About Colin Moulding
Colin Moulding is one of my favorite bassists/multi-instrumentalists. I say this because he is one of those rare breeds that plays for the song. That, along with his TC&I partner drummer Terry Chambers, shows exactly how evident that fact is on TC&I’s new live album titled ‘Naked Flames: Live at Swindon Arts Centre‘. The music is played for the music and, what I mean by that is, that there is no ‘grandstanding’ on the instruments, however, there are beautiful re-interpretations of the classic XTC tracks that Colin and Terry were known for.

On August 23rd, Moon Palace officially release their new album titled ‘Shadowcast’! And to celebrate this new milestone in, what I consider, to be a monstrous juggernaut of an original #indie band, We get an in-depth interview with Carrie Biell, Moon Palace bassist and vocalist. Along with her sister Cat and the rest of the band, Moon Baby have solidified themselves in the minds of many and the hearts of everyone that hears them. Their music is an exciting mix of underground and demands to be heard.

In this Jammerzine Exclusive, we talk to, who I feel, will rapidly become legends in the #indie music scene. I am speaking of Night Tongue. Originally from Australia and based in Los Angeles, Night Tongue are the dynamic duo of Carisa Bianca Mellado and Andrew Dalziell. Their new upcoming album is titled ‘The Stag King’ out October 11th. An added bonus is they were kind enough to let us embed their new track titled ‘Flood’ off of ‘The Stag King’. Definitely worth a listen to. After you listen to that give the interview a listen. It will put a lot into perspective because we talk a lot about their style and sound, which is original and inspiring in many dark and creative ways.

https://nighttongue.bandcamp.comAbout Palm Haze
Palm Haze is a duo that knows what they want musically. And they get it with their new album titled ‘Rêve Bleu‘. Released on August 30, 2019, the album is an almost complete showcase of what Palm Haze are going for and where they are headed.
And, in this interview, we get to catch them right at that special breaking point. That point to where you, the listener of this interview, will get to say in a year that you heard about them a year ago when your friends ask you if you’ve heard of this amazing new band called Palm Haze. And in that interview, we catch singer/bassist/co-founder Anna Wagner about this special point in their career and what it’s like to be in an emerging band in this era of global #indie while on their tour through Canada.

https://www.instagram.com/lovepalmhazeAbout Dar.Ra
Dar.Ra has dropped his full load with the new album titled ‘New Kinda Normal’. We got a taste of what was to come with the video for ‘Diamonds in the Shadows’ back in February, but this was nothing like I suspected. That track fooled me in many ways. What I mean by that is that every song and I mean every song, not only threw me for a loop as to what I expected vs. what I got but impressed me deeply for those very reasons and much, much more.
This is a mega-diverse album, to say the least. ‘New Kinda Normal’ is not an album to pigeonhole into a single musical genre. I mean, you have everything modern from electronica to raw and raucous rock to funk to quasi-punk, and it’s not only done with earnest from a talented musician but from a true fan of each style. If you are of the mindset that you want an entire album dedicated to your style of music and nothing more, then I must confess that this album may not totally be to your liking, but, if you like an adventurous trip through the musical world of a genius, then press play and leave the controls alone. You won’t be disappointed.

Desensitised has released their new track titled ‘Emily’. ‘Power trio’ is a term that, sometimes I feel is overused when it comes to a band with three members, however, it truly fits here with Desensitised. Fits as in this is a trio with power. That power streams through the speakers with the confidence of a 50 piece orchestra and a mission, and that mission is to rock. And rock, they do.

Basked in originality and drenched in progressive creativity through a soulful sensuality on steroids comes Otis McDonald with his future classic titled ‘Body, Mind and Soul’. While harking back to the giants of Soul and R n’ B via his own musical genius, Otis gives one of those feel-good thumpers for the summer at a date that makes you wish summer was another 6 months longer. Otis manages to keep the groove in the pocket while cutting loose in a way only a true aficionado of the genre can, and that is what makes this genuine and not a knock off like we are all too used to these days. Otis McDonald is the real thing.
For those aspiring musicians out there, here is yet another reason to show Otis some respect; His music got its global start on Youtube. Read this interesting article on how he made his career through royalty-free music via Youtube HERE.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCej6bRv8lR48AEbQvdb_9CgAbout Peter Saputo
The first thing that caught my attention about Peter Saputo’ new single titled ‘Let Me, Please?’, released today, is his voice. His voice is such a beautiful monster that simply soars over the music like a guiding light with such a power as to make you take notice. That is just the beginning, however. The music, although at times seemingly competing with the voice, is actually the voice’s best ally. By giving Peter’s vocals a solid score to soar to, the hooks become more prominent and the notes are highlighted with such an intensity that you can get trapped at the moment the song creates and really let the emotion in. This is s solid lesson in songwriting.

Resurrection Fern is one of the many new and up and coming artists promoting their music on Twitch, which is a brilliant idea considering the white noise that Youtube and Spotify have become. She has done this to the point to where is a Twitch partner, and not just for her social media skills. Take ‘Savanna’, her new single. This track is brilliant and beautiful with the glow of a talented and original songwriter who knows how to express herself musically. ‘Savanna’ is heartfelt because it is from the heart, not a song merely written for listens, but from experience.
