Jammerzine has an exclusive interview with The Neverlutionaries founder Christopher Harold Wells. Having released what I consider one of the most diverse albums in the last few years, The Neverlutionaries is as much Christopher’s music lab as much as it is music project.

Having cut his teeth and added his resume with some of the most prolific people in music, Christopher now demonstrates his extreme diversity with The Neverlutionaries new eponymous album filled with tracks that really make the album sound like it has multiple artists throughout. ‘Bad Timing’, the new song from Foxxglove, releases on May 14th. People say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but they never say it is at the beginning. That was the initial thought I got on that first listen to ‘Bad Timing’. Foxxglove’s vocals with stay with you long after this listen. This song will stay with you because of that alone. But the music has a future classic tinge to it where every note has its place and the hook has a purpose. I’m at a loss for words.

Leaner and with a more rock and pop sound, Tony Steele presents a more accessible version of his massacre with a hook heavy track focusing more on guitar and his unique blend of vocals. This is definitely a solid evolution in his music.

Royals Release Video for ‘Jaded’ (The Week in #Indie Segment)

Royals have released their new single and video titled ‘Jaded’. Those first few notes make it obvious that Royals are master songwriters. The hook is strong and the song is solid. But there’s a message behind the music, and it is solid. The song is a lesson and a guide in this trying time of isolation and COVID. We are all there, whether we are still trying to figure out our new lives or we are resigned. ‘Jaded’ sings that we are not alone, and that change is here. We can all make our strength that strength of adapting, and learn that we are not alone, even if we are jaded.

Jonny Kosmo has given an exclusive interview to Jammerzine. I announce that because, when you hear his music, you will see. This artist is a true original. From his music to his life and everywhere in between.

And, in this interview, we talk about his new album titled ‘Pastry’, to be released June 4th on Feeding Tube Records and Dinosaur City Records (AUS). We also talk about his innovative video from ‘Pastry’, for the song ‘Fool’, featuring animation with personality by Peter Nichols.

Whatever your musical tastes are, I think it is safe to say that you will find space on your plate for Jonny Kosmo. His music comes from that part in all of us that wants to know our individuality and inner child. Jonny has found both and made them partners.

“There are two sides to every coin. “Fool” is about how our character struggles can also be our greatest assets. In this case, it is love and connection with another that allows the defensiveness and protection of the fool archetype to shift to that of a fool for life. I aimed to capture the movement from the rigidity of taking ourselves too seriously to the humor of being human. This song is accompanied by a video made by Kevin Kearney, Peter Nichols (animation), and myself.”

About Human Drama

In this Jammerzine Exclusive, we talk to literal legends of music in the form of Johnny Indovina and Mark Balderas from Human Drama. And by legends, I mean immensely talented musicians and true human beings. Human Drama is one of those sacred icons of music having evolved musically for almost five decades and showing no signs of slowing down while doing everything on their own terms. This, to me, is that unspoken achievement rarely achieved and almost never accomplished.

Their latest album, titled ‘Blurred Images‘, is a continuance of their evolution of revolution that began with ‘Hopes Prayers Dreams Heart Soul Mind Love Life Death’ and refined and remolded through ‘Broken Songs for Broken People‘. Retaining that core sound while evolving into new forms of music is the sign of true musicians and artisans.

On ‘Blurred Images’ throughout, you get a set of personal takes on the snapshots of life. You will hear about this in detail in the interview. Musically, the album is blurred in genres at times yet comes together succinctly as a concept. Some will say that this fits a metaphor of a scrapbook filled with images, but personally, I feel that it is a single canvas of paintings molding into one another. Not knowing where one begins and another ends, but, collectively, make something whole.

Kirlian Camera Releases ‘The 8th President’ Video (The Week in #Indie Segment)

Kirlian Camera has released their new video for the track titled ‘The 8th President’. While maintaining their dark presence that has become signature for Kirlian Camera over many years, they have also brought forth an original, almost dystopian visual and audio aesthetic within the video that demands attention. Think of the movie ‘Blade Runner’ when I say this. It’s almost world-building.

The tack is all that one would expect from Kirlian Camera and, in some ways, more. There is a brooding, slow-burning underbelly to ‘The 8th President’ that, in some ways, reflects the current state of isolation and loneliness brought on by the current state of the world. Reflective of the things that are, Kirlian Camera gives a soundtrack to this that leaves more questions than answers and, while most current creativeness shows us what we could be, this shows us what we are. Brilliant.

Robi Mitch Releases ‘Future Perfect’ Album (The Week in #Indie Segment)

Almost in the realm of Pink Floyd at times, but not enough to be noticeable to the casual listener. ‘Melt’ is a song that will endear you without trying. Captivate without realizing. Vix20 has premiered their new video for the track titled ‘Broken Melody’. Taking a large detour from tracks past, Vix20 shows a lighter side of originality with a retro-hook-filled melody-induced track with tips of the hat to the likes of Christopher Cross, Pink Floyd, and more. Sound like an original mix? You have to listen to find them, but they are all there. This is as much a classic approach to songwriting as it is a time-honored way to lay a track down.

The video gives that lucid memory to the graphic artists of old that worked on such classics as ‘Heavy Metal’ and ‘Animalympics’. Given the music-heavy tinges of those two classic films, it’s easy to see where Vix20 gets some of its influence. And that influence is worn on the sleeve on the jacket of originality.

Pinhdar has released their new album titled ‘Parallel’. Angelic and operatic vocals soaring over lush and vivid soundscapes would be the immediate way to describe Pinhdar. Cecilia Miradoli and Max Tarenzi, the minds behind the music of Pinhdar, make music that is much deeper than that, though. There is a soul to ‘Parallel’. And a personality. Almost on the level of a concept as much as an album, ‘Parallel’ is, at times, a concept opera with the songs relating to chapters of a bigger, coherent piece. A ‘theater of the soul’, if you will.

The album gives you enough diversity to take what you want and bond with what you will. This is brilliance as an art form.

Sunlust is set to drop their new album titled ‘Geek Confessions’ on April 12th. The album is a solid set of hooks harking back to when alternative was still alternative, and not he mainstream. Quirky at times and gritty throughout, Sunlust leave the garage door open and lets the neighborhood soak up the goodness ringing out of the garage.
